THE MOVIE IM MOST EXCITED FOR 2023

First of all, Merry Christmas. Moving on. This will be a little bit of a messy blog post.

Like everyone else, the movies I'm most excited for in 2023 are Oppenheimer and Barbie. And they both release on the same day! But I'm definitely most excited for Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer is a dramatised biographical film about the "father of nuclear weapons", J. Robert Oppenheimer.
It's directed by Cristopher Nolan! and starring drumroll please CILLIAN FUCKING MURPHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always been morbidly fascinated with the effects that the development of nuclear weapons had on humanity.
If there was ever a time that technology overturned our humanity, it was during the Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer himself knew the implications of such a creation. A creation with no other purpose but to destroy. A knowledge which they cannot lose.

Countless works of media depict the dangers and the ramifications of nuclear weaponry/technology.
Works such as Godzilla, 1984, Fallout and Chernobyl all portray the devastation that this technology brought/can bring.

It's a story that's even more relevant today with new technologies beginning to overturn our humanity. (NovelAI and AI art softwares.)

Also, I don't care what people say but people can definitely misread works of media. It's not a matter of different opinions, it's a matter of properly understanding the story and context.
Like if you watched 500 Days of Summer and thought, "Aww what a cute love story"? Yikes.

If ANYONE AT ALL reads this as an epic pro-nuclear war marvel movie I WILL start to gatekeep cinema, do not test me. I will put you back in a high school English class.

Things I'm excited for:
-Cillian Murphy saying the infamous "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
-Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Oppenheimer. I mean LOOK at the trailer!!!
- IMAX!!!!!
